On 29th March outside of French port Lorient, 34th AC Defender Swiss Team Alinghi capsize on board 60' Trimaran "Foncia" (skipper Alain Gautier -FRA).It was 20 knots of wind, Ed Baird (USA) was at the helm , reaching at 28 knots.
during accident 2 Alinghi members have been injured and heli lifted.
3 hours after accident they were ok.
Capsizes are part of multihull sailing as it's part of dinghy sailing too. But the major difference it's cost of it for big multihull. Close
